Local PABA Champion Les Sherrington is making head line news with his convincing Knock Out win over ShannanTaylor last November. He will now take on American Rubin Williams with an impressive record of29 wins (16 Ko’s), only 8losses and 1 draw. The Draw was with Antwun Echols who went 10 rounds with Anthony Mundine

Casey ‘The Cabarita Cyclone’ Hannan – Local Tweed boy Hannan who trains with Tony Nobbs at the Tweed PCYC made his debut in June with a knock out win in the first round over Mehlvin Hernandez No5 in Queensland. He is a talented boxer who is exciting to watch.

Dave Ella will be the MC on the day with special guest comedian Greg Ritchie as well as many other sporting greats including Aussie Joe Bugner.

This will be contested on the Sherrington Vs Williams World title fight clash on the 29th of April at the Gold Coast Convention Centre and the corporate tables get to vote on 25 ring girl and choosing 6 finalists that will be going through to the grand final February 2011!

Former world title challenger Rubin "Mr Hollywod" Williams looks for a victory over WBA number 15 Les "Lock & Load" Sherrington on April 29 to spring himself back into world rankings after a disappointing string of losses.

My last fight against Rubin Williams wasn’t my best performance but there were some good things to take out of it. Firstly, with Rubin being so experienced, yet I was so dominant. I was also happy with the pressure and the kit punches I threw.

Not known for his spartan lifestyle, Col quickly moved up to heavyweight, winning the state title before taking the Australian title in 1997, decking and out pointing Vince Cervi at Southport RSL. Col lost that belt to Aussie Joe Bugner by decision at Jupiters Casino in 1998. In 2000 he won the OPBF title by upsetting former US based Justin Fortune (now a top trainer in California) by TKO in round six.
