Sherrington’s opponent Williams, who fought Jeff Lacy for the IBF world title and has recently been in with current WBA champion, Olympic Gold Medalist Andre Ward, has said there is nothing Sherrington can show him.

The Ring magazine voted Kostya Tszyu and Vic Darchinyan as the best super lightweight and super flyweight fighters of the last decade.
Darchinyan and Anthony Mundine were voted three and seven at flyweight and super middleweight respectively while Perth trained Indonesian Chris John came in fourth in the featherweight votes.

Local PABA Champion Les Sherrington is making head line news with his convincing Knock Out win over Shannon Taylor last November. He will now take on American Rubin Williams with an impressive record of 29 wins (16 Ko’s), only 8 losses and 1 draw. The Draw was with Antwun Echols who went 10 rounds with Anthony Mundine
Les is now moving up and into the international arena where he will prove what a great champion he his.

In the opposing corner will be noted US fighter Rubin “Mr Hollywood” Williams (29-8-1, 16 ko’s). Hailing from Detroit, Michigan the same Mid West city that has produced alll time greats Sugar Ray Robinson, Joe Louis and Tommy Hearns, Williams has already challenged for world title honors.
In 2005, he gave the undefeated, heavily hyped and huge punching Jeff Lacy a difficult night before being controversially stopped in seven rounds.
