Danny Green’s team are looking at big name heavyweights as potential opponents for the IBO cruiserweight champion.

Ring magazine no. 7 cruiserweight Green looked awesome in stopping veteran Manny Siaca last Wednesday night and claimed some bragging material against Anthony Mundine who surrendered the WBA super middleweight belt to Siaca in 2004.

Athens Olympic boxiing captain and WBA world title challenger Jamie Pittman (19-2, 8 ko’s) suffered a seven round knockout defeat to Ghanaian Joseph Kwadjo(14-1, 10 ko’s) in a super middleweight (76 kg) bout in Sydney on Thursday night.

Kwadjo scored three knockdowns in the round to force an automatic end. Gosfords Pittman had won the first six rounds but was dropped by right uppercuts (twice) before a straight right hand decked him as he was backed up right on the bell.

Les Sherington and under card fighter met the press at Broadbeach on Wednesday .

Sherrington’s opponent Williams, who fought Jeff Lacy for the IBF world title and has recently been in with current WBA champion, Olympic Gold Medalist Andre Ward, has said there is nothing Sherrington can show him.

The Ring magazine voted Kostya Tszyu and Vic Darchinyan as the best super lightweight and super flyweight fighters of the last decade.

Darchinyan and Anthony Mundine were voted three and seven at flyweight and super middleweight respectively while Perth trained Indonesian Chris John came in fourth in the featherweight votes.

In the opposing corner will be noted US fighter Rubin “Mr Hollywood” Williams (29-8-1, 16 ko’s). Hailing from Detroit, Michigan the same Mid West city that has produced alll time greats Sugar Ray Robinson, Joe Louis and Tommy Hearns, Williams has already challenged for world title honors.

In 2005, he gave the undefeated, heavily hyped and huge punching Jeff Lacy a difficult night before being controversially stopped in seven rounds.
