Big Time Boxing Returns To The Gold Coast On The 24th June
Big time boxing returns to the Gold Coast on Friday the 24th of June when Kali "Mean Hands" Meehan faces Michael "Iron Rhino" Kirby at Southport Sharks.
Meehan 37-4 (30 KO) knows that he cannot afford to underestimate his rugged opponent who sports a 9-3-2 (5KO) ledger. Meehan has fought some of the best Heavyweights in the world, including an unsuccessful challenge for Lamon Brewster's WBO title in 2004.
The bout is scheduled for 12 rounds and will be contested for the WBF Heavyweight title.
Les Sherrington Out Due To Injury…
The bout only come about 2 weeks ago after super middle weight Les Sherrington had to with draw with a broken leg in his last bout which made way for Kali and Michael to square off.

Kirby is coming off a draw in his last fight, which was contested for the Australian Heavyweight title. Meehan returns after a two round demolition in Germany this April. Promoter Jamie Myer believes the fight will live up to expectations.
"Both men have a lot of power and both have the ability to end this inside the distance. I think there's a very good chance this bout will end in a brutal knockout".
Featuring on the under-card is thunderous punching Cruiser-weight sensation Mostyn "The Boss" Niemann. He will face his biggest test as a professional when he meets the Gold Coast's Thor Hoopmann. Niemann is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in Australian boxing, but will face a stern challenge from the tough as nails Hoopmann over 6 rounds.
Also featuring on the undercard are local Gold Coast boxers Ryan Langham, Tyrone Jones, Rohan Murdock, Casey Hannan and Will Parsons.
